Brilliant bit of kit. I used to hate messing around with a metal ruler trying to gauge the middle of the chain. This red chain slack tool makes it precise and takes seconds. Highly recommended for track days.

The anodised red finish is actually a lifesaver. I always lose tools in my messy garage, but this stands out immediately. CNC quality feels superb.

Perfect for setting up my MT-07. It gives me absolute confidence that the tension is exactly to Yamaha's spec. No more guessing.

Very well made and accurate. It took me a minute to get used to reading the gauge compared to a tape measure, but once you get the hang of it, it's vastly superior.

I was looking at the Chain Monkey, but preferred the solid aluminium build of this one. It feels like a proper workshop tool rather than a plastic gadget.

Great for my daily commuter maintenance. Delivery was fast, though the packaging was a bit basic. The tool itself is flawless though.

David Patel, Leicester

Founded in a damp British garage after one too many frustrating attempts to measure chain slack with a bent tape measure, ChainSlack was born out of necessity. We realised that serious riders-whether dragging knees on track days or commuting through winter-needed a reliable, precise, and durable tool to ensure optimal power transfer and safety.

Our flagship chain slack adjustment tool is CNC-machined for absolute accuracy. We deliberately chose a high-visibility anodised red finish, not just for corrosion resistance against harsh UK weather, but as a pro-grade anti-loss feature in busy workshops and chaotic pit lanes.

We believe that incorrect chain tension is the silent killer of sprockets, gearboxes, and smooth riding. By providing workshop-grade precision equipment directly to the consumer, ChainSlack empowers you to maintain your motorcycle's drivetrain to professional standards, extending component life and ensuring every ride is as safe and responsive as it should be.

How to Measure Slack

How to use
  1. Consult your motorcycle owner's manual for the manufacturer's recommended chain slack (usually measured midway between sprockets).
  2. Place your bike on a paddock stand or side stand as specified by your manual.
  3. Attach the ChainSlack tool to the lower run of the drive chain, precisely midway between the front and rear sprockets.
  4. Push the chain up and pull it down to measure the total vertical movement using the tool's integrated gauge.
  5. Adjust your rear axle position until the slack matches the manufacturer's specification perfectly.
